Forever Autumn

So here we are - September. If I'm honest I'm completely stunned that August is over and its technically Autumn. We had a busy month with a weekend in Belfast for one of my besties wedding, trips to the football, a weekend in Norfolk and a very hectic bank holiday weekend seeing Metallica at Leeds Fest and Sufjan Stevens last night in Manchester.

I'm actually really pleased its Autumn though - I love the changing seasons and I realised the other day that I'm really going to miss my daily walks through fields and trees watching the leaves change colour and fall - I'm glad I took so many photos like the ones above. I am intrigued to see how Autumn affects the city but I think if I want pretty trees and golden sunshine I'm going to have to go a bit further afield ha.

We've got another busy month ahead so I've scheduled most of my posts again but I should be around and trying to reply to comments - I have lots of pretty photos to share which I'm excited about - I hope you love them!

p.s. Brownie points for anyone who started singing Forever Autumn after reading the post title.  Is my inner nerd showing again?!

Dreary weather...

It is currently freezing and snowing in Leeds. Not my favourite weather - and more slush than heavy and pretty (though I managed some pretty enough photos on Instagram). It seemed a bit weird to show some photos from Porto or the Summer, so I settled for some detail photos from Autumn instead.

It's still surreal to me that I have a new job and I don't walk this way any more in the morning - you get used to something after 6 years. Luckily my new job is still going so well and the pluses make up for a different walk in the morning - but when I'm crammed on a busy commuter train I do miss being alone in the middle of a field (apart from an occasional deer).  I do not however miss the buses... so that's a plus too ha.

More Autumn details...

I used to sit on that little step. I miss the view and the trees. It's been harder than I thought looking at these photos, knowing that I took them before I made such a big change in my life. I feel a little nostalgic, but mostly, I feel relieved... relieved that I did it, relieved that it doesn't seem to be a bad decision and relieved that everything is OK and my fears were just that - fears. Phew!
