High Mill, Pickering

I mentioned in my last post that whilst we were in Pickering we stayed at High Mill and it was such a wonderful location that I wanted to share more detail photos. I'm surprised I don't have more photos to share really as everything about the accommodation was really perfect.

Is it too soon to call my photo of the year? Because I think that last photo is it. I just can't stop looking at it!

Pickering Trains

One of the highlights of Pickering is that it is the first (or last) stop of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway - we took the train in 2012 with my parents (you can see photos here) and I loved the old steam trains then - so getting to see even more and take photos in Pickering again was very exciting, even if we didn't go on the train this time.

The accommodation we stayed in at Pickering - High Mill - which we highly recommend - was right next to the train line, so we got to watch the trains arrive and leave and wave at all the happy people going by. I loved it.

Pickering Typography

It feels like old school blogging to be sharing a feet photo - in fact I can't remember the last time I shared one on here - but the slab made me chuckle... what was his end? Who was he? Why was his end commemorated but never completed? Or maybe his end just was and is.

I've actually took a photo of that last building  when we were in Pickering for the first time but I'm glad I took it again, it definitely catches my eye!
