Happy birthday Market Delivered!!

Last week marked the 1st birthday of Market Delivered and I'm glad to say that Thomas and I have been using this service for almost the same amount of time (about 11 months we think!) so I wanted to share these photos and celebrate here. Hurray!

Market Delivered is a service that delivers food from our local market Leeds Kirkgate - and also two other markets - Todmorden and Halifax - to the surrounding local areas. Providing fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, bakery items (so good!) and groceries delivered from the market stalls to your door by a very friendly man called Dave (that's him in the photo above, hi Dave!).

Now that we've been getting fresh fruit and veg boxes for very reasonable prices for almost a year, neither Thomas or I can really imagine buying our fresh food from a supermarket again. We still go for some things but the majority of our food is delivered by Dave and we wouldn't have it any other way!

Happy birthday Market Delivered and thank you Dave for coming up with such a great idea and also for saving our legs from walking up the hill with bags of shopping!

Cromer

Cromer is one of my favourite places to keep returning to in Norfolk. For as long as I can remember I've had such fond memories of visiting there and I'm never disappointed when we go in any weather. In fact one of my first ever blog posts was sharing some photos of Cromer that my now Brother in Law took way back in 2009.  I never imagined then that I would be sharing my own photos here but just like in 2009, I did had a chocolate ice cream from our usual place on this visit :) and it was yummy!

This weekend is another long bank holiday weekend in the UK and I'm so excited about it, we don't have much planned but the extra day to relax is definitely going to be appreciated.

Newly engaged

Two of my best friends got engaged over Christmas and I knew that I wanted to take a portrait of them together when I saw them to celebrate. Hurray for love!

A new photographic aim for the year...

I wrote an article for Lomography about my 2013 Analogue Resolutions and one of the resolutions was to start to take portraits of people... so I started looking through my photos to see if I had taken any portraits of people before and to my surprise I had a few that I really loved...(granted not that many out of 4,000 photos, but a few is a start)

My Dad on the North Yorkshire Moor Railway, I'm not sure he's seen this and he'll probably hate it, but I really really love it (so there Dad)

This is one of my best friends, we were on a boat on the Norfolk Broads at the time, I looked up and she looked so pretty and happy, I didn't even think, I just took a photo.

My Thomas. He hates having his photo taken and you can see annoyance and amusement in this photo, which is his usual face when he's dealing me coming to think of it :) I'm quite taken with him.

My Mum walking Harry. If you know my Mum then you know that she doesn't really just walk, she strides with purpose, even when she doesn't need too, so here is my Mum striding...

...and my sister doing exactly the same thing :) They're both very determined women!

I'd also completely forgotten that I'd featured some photos of people that I'd met at Lomo Meet-ups on Lomography too. And looking through all these photos, I wasn't as scared of taking portraits as I was when I originally made my resolution list, now I'm excited to get going!
